Sweden Claims Poker Nations Cup
Team Sweden ended the PartyPoker.com Poker Nations Cup tournament as champions, claiming $100,000 in prize money.The team inclused WSOP bracelet winners Anders Henriksson and Mats Rahm.
It seems that Sweden, in large part, owes their victory to Henriksson. Sweden had only 12,000 chips compared to the 88,000 chips held by the U.S. team. After doubling up and wearing down the U.S. captain, Henriksson was able to take the lead.
From the beginning, the tournament was a dramatic one, with Great Britian starting as the runaway favorites. The U.S. took over right before the final and amassed a huge chip lead, only to be defeated in a surprise comback from Team Sweden.
