Ultimate Poker Challenge Partially Cancelled
The Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act has forced the partial cancellation of the Ultimate Poker Challenge, a planned year long series of events hosted by Binion’s Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. A notice posted at Binion’s and on the web states that all future television tapings have been cancelled.
With more and more poker rooms pulling out of the U.S. market, the Ultimate Poker Challenge producer was financially forced to pull the plug on the tapings.
However, it appears that the posibility of a few events being aired still exists. At this time, it seems that the $10K event scheduled for March 16th-18th will still be televised. The number of other buy-in events, if any, that will be taped is unclear.
