Court Rules Against Video Poker in South Carolina
This morning, the South Carolina Supreme Court ruled against the Catawaba Tribe, saying that they do not have the right to operate video poker at the casino on their reservation.
This ruling overturned a 2005 ruling made by a Circuit Court Judge, allowing video poker only on the reservation. Video poker had been banned statewide starting in 2000.
Dwight Drake, the tribe’s attorney, stated that an appeal was likely.
