Poker Movie Mixes Stars and Players
“Lucky You” is a film to be released in the US early this summer that depicts poker in Las Vegas around the time of the 2003 World Series of Poker, right before poker popularity skyrocketed. The plot is centered around fictional characters played by Drew Barrymore and Eric Bana, but many professional players do make appearances. Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunsen, Johnny Chan, and Ted Forrest can all be seen in the film.
“Lucky You” focuses on the real world around the poker tables and the life of its people. From early reviews, it appears that “Lucky You” depicts the lives of professional players more accurately than other films have in the past.
