27 Players Left in WPT Championship

April 26th, 2007

After four days, 27 players remain in the World Poker Tour World Championship.  Among the survivors are poker pros Phil Hellmuth, Scott Fischman, Roland De Wolfe, and Paul Wasicka.

Currently in first place is Paul Lee, a relatively unknown player, though he did win the Bellagio Five Star Poker Classic last week.  After day four of the WPT tournament, he boasts a commanding chip lead that is certainly attracting attention.   At the start of day four, Lee had 540,000 chips but doubled up after the first redraw.  Lee will start day five with 3.6 million.

Play will end today when the number of players is narrowed to six.
