World’s largest live poker room to install dealer-less, card-less poker tables

April 27th, 2007

LOS ANGELES - Commerce Casino, the world’s largest live card room, has reached an agreement with automated poker table manufacturer Lightning Poker to install an unspecified number of Lightning Poker’s tables on their poker room floors.

Lightning Poker provides tables that require no cards or dealers. Instead, game play is handled through a series of monitors and buttons placed at each seat.

A handful of smaller card rooms have announced plans to install these types of tables in the last year. However, the size and influence of the Commerce may signal a larger trend of industry-wide acceptance of dealer-free tables.

Archive pick: Value betting the river, no limit hold em cash -

Game type: 1/2 No Limit Cash Game
Your image: Fairly Aggressive
Opponent's image: Solid, a little tricky
Your hand: As Qh

This hand is from the archives and originally appeared on 8/21/07. View the original quiz and comments here

The setup: You're fairly new to this table and you picked up a pot quick when you flopped a set and won a decent multi-way pot. You've been fairly active since, seeing a lot of flops cheap and playing for the win on the flop or turn in a couple of spots.

This hand you're dealt AQo UTG and you decide to limp. The button limps and both blinds play. You flop top pair:

Qd 7h 6d

The SB leads out for $6. The BB folds. You make it $24 and the button folds. The SB calls. The turn gives you two pair with the Ac. The SB checks and you pop $40 into $54. The SB flat calls.

The turn comes the 10c. The SB checks again. There's $134 in the middle. Do you value bet here and if so, for how much?
