Mirage Poker Showdown Update

May 15th, 2007

The preliminary events of the 2007 Mirage Poker Showdown began this week and the online pros are dominating.  Two of the most well-known online players have won two events so far - Jared “theWacoKidd” Hamby won the $1,000 buy-in tournament and Darrell “Gigabet” Dicken beat out 536 other players to win the $500 buy-in event.

For his win, Hamby earned $86,383 and a $10,000 seat at the WPT Championship event on May 19th.  Additionally, Dicken took home $48,189 and another $10,000 seat to the WPT Championship.

Many of poker’s big names, both online pros and live tournament players, are using the Mirage Poker Showdown to fine tune their skills in anticipation of the WSOP Main Event that is only weeks away.
