Ladies Come Out on Top at Mandalay Bay Buy-In
The top two finishers in the $2,500 buy-in preliminary event at the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship were both women. Both ladies fought their way through 118 mostly male players. Taking second place was Anna Wroblewski, earning $71,540. The champion was Erica Schoenberg who earned $105,875 for her first place finish.
Schoenberg took 16th place at the 2006 World Poker Tour Championship and finished 4th in the WPT Ladies Night Out.
Wroblewski is new to the poker scene, making herself a name last month at the Bellagio Five Star World Poker Classic. She won the $3,000 buy-in event there and took 70th place in the $10,000 buy-in championship. She also won the Ladies event at the WSOP Circuit event at Caesar’s Palace. Her six week total of poker earnings comes out to $481,303.
