Skill Games Network closes doors
Individuals with accounts on the Skillgames network, which includes rooms such as GamesGrid Poker, received an email today notifying them of the company’s intention to cease all gaming operations, effective immediately.
The Skillgames network was one of the first to offer online backgammon, and had made a fairly successful foray into poker, until the passing of the UIGEA. At that point, Skillgames stopped accepting US customers and saw their already thin traffic plummet.
Here is the text of the email sent to customers today:
“Dear ——–,
It is with great sadness that we must inform you that the SkillGames Network is closing down.
Effective June 6, we will cease to offer live gaming.
Our Poker client will be closed briefly while we close the games, but will reopen and your accounts will be active for you to withdraw your remaining funds.
We sincerely regret that we can no longer offer our live gaming, however it is no longer an option for us.
We thank you for your support over the years, and wish you the best of luck in your Poker playing future.
Sincerely,
SkillGames.”
