House Committee on Financial Services hears testimony regarding online gaming regulation
The US Congressional House Committee on Financial Services held an official hearing today at 10:00 EST to discuss the pros and cons of regulated online gaming.
The hearing, titled “Can Internet Gambling Be Effectively Regulated to Protect Consumers and the Payments System?”, is part of the legislative process for the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007 proposed by Rep. Barney Frank, Chairman of the House Committee on Financial Services.
Witnesses scheduled to appear included Radley Balko, Senior Editor, Reason Magazine, Jon Prideaux, Chief Executive, Asterion Payments, Gerald Kitchen, Chief Executive Officer, SecureTrading Ltd, and Pastor Greg Hogan.
