Blind man now allowed to play in World Series Main Event
Facing a potential PR black eye, Harrah’s has reversed course and now is claiming that a miscommunication resulted in Jason Holbrook of Bakersfield, California - who is legally blind and uses an assistent to read him the hole and baord cards - being informed that he would not be allowed to play in the main event of the World Series of Poker.
Holbrook told media outlets that he had been informed by the Rio that his card reader would not be allowed to sit at the table, rendering Holbrook unable to play. Harrah’s is now claiming that this was never the case. Either way, the path has been cleared for Holbrook to play the $10,000 buy in event, which begins later this week.
