Multi-accounting crackdown hits NeverWin, YourTimeisUp and several top online pros

News of a massive crackdown on individuals using multiple accounts on major poker rooms such as PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker is spreading rapidly across the pokernet today, with some very well-known names such as NeverWin and YourTimeisUp at the top of the ban lists.
News of the crackdown first started seeping on on Pocket Fives and NeverWin, as recapped by this thread on 2+2. Most of the bans involved multi-accounting in the sense of using multiple aliases or accounts to play in games at separate times, not playing on several accounts simultaneously.
The decisions made by the poker rooms to ban some accounts and freeze several others associated with the accounts has, unsurprisingly, met with mixed reactions. Some view this breed of multi-accounting as a natural by-product of the online medium, while others applaud the strict stance taken by Stars at FT. The NeverwinPoker forum has a good thread covering the spectrum of responses.
One should reasonably expect more of this sort of news in the weeks to come, as the momentum of this story generates more tip-offs to rooms, more players coming clean, and other rooms following the lead of Full Tilt and PokerStars.
