PokerStars apparently disqualifying a Sunday Millions final table finisher

August 20th, 2007

PokerStars
PokerKing is reporting today that PokerStars has apparently disqualified one of the players who made it to the final table of the PokerStars Sunday Million on 8/12. While the identity of the player hasn’t been released yet, it’s probably only a matter of time before it pushes out on the forums.

The story came to light when a player who finished on the final table bubble received an email from PokerStars informing the player that they would be being bumped up in the money due to the disqualification of a player who finished ahead of them.

According to PokerKing, PokerStars did note that the disqualification was not for collusion, but rather because another player had signed on to the account and finished the tournament.

There’s little doubt that these incidents are very common - it looks like someone just picked a terrible weekend to get some help in the Millions, as they did so right on the brink of the multi-accounting crackdown that broke last week.
