PokerStars Sunday Millions ‘cheaters’ identified as Flyndra, Ambi

August 21st, 2007

The identity of the players disqualified from the PokerStars Sunday Millions final table on 8/12 is being reported today on several forums and websites, including 2+2, Pocket 5’s and PokerKing.com, and while there’s been no official word from PokerStars on the matter, it appears that ‘Flyndra’ and ‘Ambi’ were the players involved.

Flyndra, who ended up taking 5th in the tournament, apparently handed the tournament over to Ambi at some point during the money stages. PokerStars, as part of a recent crackdown on multi-accounting, investigated the situation and has reportedly banned both players from the site.

Flyndra’s winnings, roughly $41,000, were reportedly confiscated and redistributed to other players with lower finishes. A quick OPR lookup on both players reveals Ambi to be a fairly successful player, while Flyndra had little to his record prior to the Sunday Millions run.

PokerStars has yet to make an official comment on these investigations, only emailing players directly effected by the situation. An email to PokerStars requesting a statement has yet to be answered.
