Caesars Las Vegas announces the inagural Caesar’s Poker Classic

Caesars

Looking to increase the position of their poker room in the local and national tournament circuit, Caesar’s Las Vegas announced yesterday their plans to host a $10,000 buy in tournament with a one million dollar guarantee.

The tournament, which will run as a series capped by the $10,000 main event, will be run under the banner of The Caesar’s Poker Classic and is scheduled to run in late October.

While the tournament field in Las Vegas is already fairly crowded, Caesar’s has reason to believe they can compete with existing events. “Unlike a lot of other properties that have to set up their (tournament) tables in a ballroom, we’re able to accommodate a much larger field right in the poker room at Caesars,” Jason Halperin, Caesars Palace poker tournament director told the Las Vegas Sun.

“We saw a sweet spot on the poker calendar, and we did not want to compete with the circuit events. We wanted to be able to kick off the poker year with this tournament.”
