32Red in talks to sell Bet Direct online gaming site

Only 18 months after purchasing Bet Direct from Sportech, UK company 32Red is in talks to sell the brand. Though records show an increase in customers over the last year, poor trading has created a pre-tax loss of nearly 4 million pounds.
It is speculated that Irish gaming operator Boylesports is the company considering purchasing Bet Direct, though this remains unconfirmed. Also unconfirmed is the possible selling price of the company. 32Red paid 12.5 million pounds in May 2006.
A quick check of Bet Direct Poker shows 17,980 players online, an increase over the approximately 11,000 active poker or casinos customer base at the time of 32Red’s acquisition last year.
The sale could “give them cash on the balance sheet,†said one industry analyst.
