While the current governor of Kentucky runs a “No Casinos” reelection campaign and his opponent promises to give the choice to voters, the Poker Players Alliance has started a campaign of its own.
The PPA’s goal is to persuade its members and other poker fans in the state to declare their support for card rooms, putting pressure on state representatives and other officials.
The poker debate is heating up, as elections held November 6 will likely determine the status of the casino industry in Kentucky.
Currently, Kentucky poker players must travel across the state border to make use of the casinos and card rooms in Indiana. Many Kentuckians would like to keep that revenue in-state, as well as save themselves the trip.
