24hPoker to change name in Sweden
24hPoker is expecting an “all clear” from the Swedish Gaming Board after responding to investigations into the number and location of its employees.
Following an unrelated announcement that 24hPoker will be dropping a number of its employees to increase profits, the company stated that it is well within Swedish law. Sweden allows only government-owned gaming operations, and 24hPoker, which is licensed in Malta, believes that the confusion arose from having the same name on the Malta and Sweden based companies.
24hPoker spokesperson Pia Rosin addressed the confusion: “We believe that the actual problem is that our Maltese gaming operation and the Swedish supplier operation have the same name. We have decided to change the name of our Swedish operations to better reflect our business in Sweden to avoid further confusion.†She went on to say, “All the actual gaming operations are in Malta.”
Redbet is currently being investigated in Sweden on the same basis.
