Charges filed against six men associated with “European Poker Challenge”

Six Swedish men allegedly involved with running the unlicensed European Poker Challenge in Grebbestad, Sweden have been arrested and charged.
The 700-player, 250 Euro buy-in, unlicensed poker tournament was busted almost as soon as it began. The top prize of 50,000 Euros was not awarded, and it is not clear where the prize pool went.
Two men were charged with providing the premises for illegal gambling, two were associated with the online gaming company sponsoring the event, and two were local organizers of the event.
All those involved have denied the charges, which carry penalties of up to four years imprisonment. The trial will be held in November.
