Qualifiers are already underway for the Irish Poker Open, set to be the largest (or second largest) UK poker event in history.

And Paddy Power Poker is sweetening the pot for players who qualify through its website. The highest scoring in the tournament will win free entry to the 2009 event, an $8,500 value, unless the top Irish Open winner is also a Power Paddy Poker qualifier, in which case he or she will have free entry guaranteed each year through 2013. With the prize pool growing each year, that’s quite an opportunity.

Unfortunately, US players are not allowed to qualify online and must buy in if they wish to compete.
