The International Poker Open has 1,015 players registered so far and doesn’t even start till tomorrow. Even if a couple hundred people change their minds about playing in the 2-day No-Limit Texas Hold’em Freezeout tournament, the record of 708 people playing poker at the same time in Europe — set at this year’s Irish Open — looks to be broken.

The low buy-in of €150 combined with a prize pool of more than €125,000 is one of the reasons for the popularity of the event hosted by Mermaid Poker and Poker Ireland.

Play starts at high noon tomorrow in Dublin.
