The just-ended EiG conference in Barcelona saw the official launch of minimum guidelines for online gambling designed to protect players.
Senior officials from GamCare, eCOGRA and the Remote Gambling Association presented the 30 point socially responsible code to leading European gambling jurisdictions. The code, which will increase protection for players and give exactness to the widespread industry, was formally agreed to at a September meeting but is just now being officially launched. Areas addressed include primarily underage gambling, measures to protect players, communication with customers by companies, advertising and promotions measures, and staff education in these areas.
