Rumors regarding the possibility of multi-accounting on the part of WCOOP Main Event winner theV0id have calmed since the initial fury following the closing of the WCOOP, but, according to an official comment from PokerStars, investigations regarding the WCOOP Main Event are still underway.

There’s no information regarding the specific focus of the investigation at this point, as Stars generally refuses to release details of players involved in these types of situations.

PokerStars support posted the following in a thread on the issue over at 2+2. This comment was in response to an email a 2+2 member posted from PS Support asserting that the WCOOP issue was closed:

Hello all,

This post has been brought to my attention.

Unfortunately the above email from Howard is incorrect; Our senior game security staff and management are still reviewing this case and no final decision has yet been reached.

Once the investigation is complete, we will post an official statement.

We apologize for any confusion caused.

Ellis
PokerStars Support Supervisor

We’ll await final comment from Stars on the matter and update the story when it’s received.
