In a move that some are interpreting as a small sea change in the online poker industry, online poker site Doyle’s Room announced today via a mailing to affiliate partners that they are set to return to the US market.
Doyle’s Room, which operates on the MicroGaming network, was one of the handful of rooms that stuck it out in the US market in the immediate aftermath of the UIGEA. However, after changes in the policy of their network at the time, Doyle’s room eventually cut off service to players from the US.
An excerpt from the mailer announces the specific date of the reopening:
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that DoylesRoom.com is back in the USA Market. Commencing October 19, 2007, all US-players are welcomed to enjoy our redesigned, faster and better poker tables.
It’s unclear at this point whether service will be open to all US residents or determined on a state-by-state basis.
