PPA releases talking points for commenting on UIGEA regulations

The Poker Player’s Alliance, a leading online poker lobbying group, has released talking points for members interested in making their voices heard on the matter of UIGEA regulations.
The regulations, stemming from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which was passed in October of 2006, were recently drafted and published by the Department of the Treasury and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. Before the regulations become law, they are subject to a 60-day period of public comment.
We’d like to echo the PPA’s sentiment that commenting on these regulations is an essential act if you’re interested in preserving your right to play poker online. We’d further echo the idea that it’s important for the commenting to come in your own words, and not take the form of a cut and paste submission that draws entirely on the materials provided by the PPA.
That said, the talking points provided by the PPA, which can be found here, are an excellent starting point for structuring the arguments that are most likely to resonate with legislators.
