The fallout from the Absolute Poker scandal continues this week, with two new installments in the ongoing drama appearing today.
First up is Mark Seif, poker pro and Absolute Poker spokesperson. Last week Mark gave an interview to RawVegastv which created a small backlash in some circles due to a (perceived) flippant tone, lack of acceptance of any responsibility, and apparent threats of potential litigation against Todd Witteles (DanDruff over at NeverWinPoker).
Here’s our story on Mark’s interview.
Mark apparently got wind of some of those complaints, and issued a couple of clarifications on his blog regarding the interview. Excerpt:
I was quite surprised when I saw the interview because it was presented to the viewers as if I came in to present AP’s side of the story. I never knew that nor did I agree to that. Nor did AP. I came in representing myself and speaking only on my behalf. I’ll clear this up with the folks at RawVegas.tv …
Next up is Todd Witteles, who was instrumental in breaking the Absolute scandal in the first place. Witteles apparently didn’t take too kindly to the threats raised by Mark in his interview, and responded with a video interview of at RawVegas where he challenges Mark to provide some concrete examples of the false or exaggerated claims Seif accused Witteles of making. Witteles goes further, raising legitimate criticisms of Seif’s response to the scandal, and questions why AP can’t produce HHs that would clear Seif of past cheating allegations. Witteles wraps up with an extended defense of his role in pushing the story along.
