Absolute Poker has yet to respond to an offer presented by 2+2 head Mason Malmuth, extended within the last few days, for an independent investigation of Absolute Poker conducted by Malmuth’s attorneys.

The offer, described in detail in this thread on 2+2, came out of conversations between Malmuth and Absolute where Absolute requested that Malmuth basically ‘vouch’ for their company’s efforts post-super account scandal. Malmuth responded, reasonably, that he’d do no such thing under the current circumstances, but would be willing to do so if an independent audit showed that Absolute was, in fact, back on the level.

Mason then had his lawyers draft a formal investigative proposal, which was passed along to Absolute. According to Malmuth, Absolute has yet to respond. It’s a little unclear who would fit the bill for the investigation, as Malmuth’s lawyers will apparently only take payment from 2+2.

Based on press releases from Absolute, it appears as if they are going ahead with their original plan of retaining Gaming Associates for the company audit, along with some, as yet unspecified, involvement of PocketFives.com.
