Oldest WSOP bracelet winner charged with illegal gambling in Tennessee

Paul “Cigar” McKinney, who became the oldest World Series of Poker bracelet winner two years ago at age 80 when he won the WSOP Senior Division No Limit Hold’em, was arrested and released on bond Friday in Tennessee.
The octogenarian player from West Virginia, who has famously attributed his luck to a lifetime of “moonshine whiskey, big cigars, and young women,” was caught in a gambling raid in Kingsport, Tennessee after a police tip-off. All present were charged with gambling, while McKinney and one other were charged with “aggravated gambling promotion.” McKinney was also found to have Schedule III narcotics in his pocket.
One of the other fifteen arrested, Mark Ketron, was charged with possession of moonshine. No word on whether “young women” were involved.
Less than $20,000 was seized, as well as playing cards, poker chips and football betting slips.
