Speaking to reporters before entering meetings with his Washington counterparts, EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson stressed the need for the United States to reconsider their legislative stance on online gaming.
“What we need to see is a change in U.S. legislation that removes that discrimination against EU operators,” Mandelson said.
According to Reuters, Mandelson will be meeting with Barney Frank, sponsor of legislation that would represent a step toward the regulation of online gaming. “I think he (Frank) takes a fair-minded, a common sense, approach to this and we look forward to that being effective legislation.” Mandelson said.
