If you’re an online poker player between the ages of 18 and 28 and you’re looking to showcase your degeneracy for a national audience, MTV has your ticket. The entertainment channel is currently recruiting online poker players for roles in a future episode of its ‘True Life’ documentary series.
‘True Life’ generally focuses on youth subcultures. Recent episodes have dealt with issues such as celibacy, stepping, debt, meth and tourette’s.
‘True Life’ producers emailed us the following casting notice:
I’m producing a documentary for MTV’s True Life about people who lead “double lives” online. We’re reaching out to a number of different online groups and cultures, and we thought it could be fascinating to profile someone who gambles online. The key thing we’re looking for is that potential characters lead real lives that are VERY different to their online gambling. Perhaps this person keeps gambling a secret to friends and family, perhaps their earnings are being used to offset tuition costs or helping to pay for a sick relative’s bills, or perhaps this person simply betrays the stereotype of who an online gambler really is (do you work at a nonprofit and you gamble? are you religious and you gamble? are you a model and you gamble? etc.).
Please ONLY respond if you lead a CONVINCING “double life” in relation to the online gambling, you are between the ages of 18-28, and you reside in the US. Email your story, age, and a photo to: brosen@leftright.tv (Left Right is a NYC-based production company hired by MTV to produce this show)
Thanks!
