Beginning January 1, 2008, casinos in Colorado will no longer be exempt from the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act of 2006.
25-14-205 j of Section 1 of the Act, which listed the exemption of “the retail floor plan, as defined in section 12-47.1-509, C.R.S., of a licensed casino” was repealed over the summer, to be effective 8 AM on the first day of next year. The repeal followed an air quality study which found that “unhealthy” levels of air pollution were present in the smoking casinos, posing a health threat to employees and patrons alike.
