A casino petition drive spearheaded by MyOhioNow kicked off today in The Buckeye State.
An article on the official website states that the plan “guarantees a $600,000,000 destination casino/resort that would employ nearly 5,000 Ohioans and generate approximately $200,000,000 in tax revenues that would be divided among the 88 Ohio counties on a per capita basis.”
402,225 signatures from at least half of Ohio’s 88 counties are needed on the petition in order to get it onto the November ballot. MyOhioNow, which believes that the construction of a single casino with “Mid-Western sensibilities” is just what the state needs, plan to hit up more than 70 counties and garner far more than the minimum number of required signatures.
