Popular poker tournament series The Aussie Millions kicked off this Saturday, and promises to provide a steady stream of news and gossip during its two-week run that caps off with the final table of the Aussie Millions Main Event, currently scheduled for January 20th.

Last year, Gus Hansen won the Main Event and took home 1.5 million for his efforts.

The online poker rumor mill is asserting that Josh ‘JJProdigy’ Field is planning to attend the Aussie Millions (Pocket Fives thread here), which would mark his live major tournament debut. Field had originally planned to play the PCA, but was sidetracked by PokerStar’s decision to ban him from that event.
