The Telegraph published a story following the “Ocean’s 14″-style payout error last month in which a glitch in Betfair’s system led to a few hours of some players getting more money in their accounts than they ought to. Betfair appears to be putting the onus on the affected players and is considering filing suit to reclaim possible owed funds.

The betting exchange has written to a number of account holders accusing them of collusion and ordering them to repay the money this week or face possible legal action.

Players are alleged to have taken advantage of a computer glitch in some tournament games, which led to Betfair making erroneous payments to every participant in “certain all-in situations”.

In an email, Betfair said: “You recently received payments from playing Sit & Go STTs [single table tournaments] on Betfair Poker in circumstances that resulted in greater payouts than intended.”

Betfair said such games “were incorrectly set up to pay everyone involved in certain all-in situations and this was exploited by you and others to generate substantial returns in a short space of time. As I’m sure you can understand, the winnings received as a result of this exploitation must be returned.”

There are some responses over in the 2+2 forums by posters claiming to be among those involved in the “heist:”

this kind of article could surely help us in court? a planned heist? well that is just emotinal bs which is not what we deserve!

i dont have peoples msn or emails etc, i dont know these people i supposedly ‘colluded with’! so on here is the only place i can get a response! although obviously most people are scared to talk but fuk this i’m not being talked about like this in the press and not saying anything.

Previously, this same poster had written:

i deeply regret what i did

i think everyone does

it was 3am we were all flipping on cash tables and then we found this glitch on a 2dollar table and it spiralled and got out of control, as much as i know what i did was wrong you really had to be there to understand

while another claimed participant wrote:

Only thing is I am 99.9% sure I did nothing illegal, unethical probably, but def not illegal.

TBH I just want my account back and get back to posting on forum and playing etc!

AA on safe board, no limit full ring - DailyHandQuiz

Game type: 25/50 Full Ring Cash, PokerStars
Your image: Active, possibly a little frustrated
Opponent's image: Very aggressive preflop
Your hand: Ad Ah

The setup: You've had an uneven session so far and it's been a bit since you won a hand. This hand there's a poster in the hijack preflop. The table folds to him and he checks. You raise $200. The button folds and the SB three bets to $825. The BB and hijack fold, and you flat.

You have a good amount of history with the raiser. He is a very active three bettor and seems to have your number in recent sessions. He is very aggressive against your preflop raises, especially if there's a squeeze opportunity. He's also a pretty steady continuation bettor.

You flop about as dry as can be:

jc 2h 6d

The SB leads for $985 into $1750. What's your play?
