The Poker Players Alliance announced on Monday that Drew Lesofski, the former senior federal policy advisory for Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons, joined the organization as director of Grassroots and External Affairs. Lesofski will work with and attempt to grow the PPA’s grassroots operations.
During his time with the governor, he dealt with gaming issues, in addition to many other issues.
According to a story on the PPA’s Web site:
“As we get closer to reaching the million-member milestone, it is more important than ever for PPA to find new ways to energize and mobilize our members,” said Alfonse D’Amato, Chairman of the PPA. “Drew’s policy and political campaign experience will be an asset to PPA as we further refine and augment our grassroots program.”
“Drew’s experience has given him a solid understanding of the relationship between states and the federal government and the skills necessary to organize and manage multifaceted grassroots operations. We look forward to having him as part of our team,” continued D’Amato.
The PPA now boasts more than 900,000 members.
