Talk show host Montel Williams will represent the United States on the felt.

Williams was selected by team captain Robert Williamson III to join Team USA for the PartyPoker.com Poker Nations Cup, which will be held in Cardiff, Wales, from April 7-10. He joins teammates Jamie Gold, Chris Ferguson and Chad Brown.

According to cardplayer.com:

Williams will compete in the $5,000 buy-in event against Sweden, Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, and Germany for a team prize of $100,000 while the winners of individual matches will take home $20,000. Party Poker have added $100,000 to the prize pool.

There are six heats and players score points according to their finish in the heat. The final sees the team captains make tactical substitutions and strategic time outs.

Whole thing here.

Sweden won the event last year and has been installed as this year’s favorite by oddsmakers.
