Gary Wise, a respected poker player and writer, was banned by twoplustwo.com in a move that is apparently an offshoot of earlier drama.

Last month, neverwinpoker.com’s Bryan Micon was banned for speaking his mind at 2+2. If you didn’t follow the episode, here’s that story in a nutshell.

According to neverwin, Wise was banned by 2+2’s Mason Malmuth for being a part of an ESPN show with Todd “Dan Druff” Witteles, who is a member of the neverwin team.

An excerpt from a Witteles post at neverwin:

Just as you thought Mason Malmuth and friends were done with their hypocritical banning spree, they outdid themselves today.

Poker media member Gary Wise, who has worked for both the WPT and currently for ESPN, was banned by 2+2 today.

His offense?

He allowed me to be part of the ESPN Online Poker Think Tank on espn.com.

I’m not kidding. That was the reason given to him when he was banned today.

So 2+2 has apparently graduated from banning NWP members to banning anyone with a loose association with me, Micon, or Dustin (Woolf).

Brief story here, with a link to the neverwin thread.

Archive pick: Value betting the river, no limit hold em cash -

Game type: 1/2 No Limit Cash Game
Your image: Fairly Aggressive
Opponent's image: Solid, a little tricky
Your hand: As Qh

This hand is from the archives and originally appeared on 8/21/07. View the original quiz and comments here

The setup: You're fairly new to this table and you picked up a pot quick when you flopped a set and won a decent multi-way pot. You've been fairly active since, seeing a lot of flops cheap and playing for the win on the flop or turn in a couple of spots.

This hand you're dealt AQo UTG and you decide to limp. The button limps and both blinds play. You flop top pair:

Qd 7h 6d

The SB leads out for $6. The BB folds. You make it $24 and the button folds. The SB calls. The turn gives you two pair with the Ac. The SB checks and you pop $40 into $54. The SB flat calls.

The turn comes the 10c. The SB checks again. There's $134 in the middle. Do you value bet here and if so, for how much?
