San Manuel Casino in California is slated to host a celebrity poker tournament on May 8 to benefit and raise awareness of Ante Up for Africa, which is headed up by actor Don Cheadle and poker pro Annie Duke.
Ante Up for Africa hopes to shed more light on the plight of those living in the Darfur region of Sudan, where fighting has left hundreds of thousands dead and millions left homeless in recent years.
More than 120 celebrities are scheduled to attend the invite-only event.
According to pokerpages.com:
Cheadle and Duke are scheduled to attend the event, which will take place to shine a light on the humanitarian crisis that’s taking place in Darfur and will act as a sister tournament to the publicly-held Ante Up for Africa tournament that will take place at the World Series of Poker for the second time this summer. The tournament raised $700,000 for the non-profit Ante Up for Africa organization at the WSOP last year.

This year’s public WSOP event is scheduled for June 2 at the Rio in Las Vegas and is a $5,000 buy-in tournament.
