The event was the largest poker tournament ever held in South America.
Nuijten entered the final table as a significant chip leader, having Vitaly Kovyazin, who was second in chips, covered by more than 2-1. In the end, it came down to these two heads up. When it was all over, Nuijten had the chips and the nearly $223,000 first-place prize.
According to the story, Nuijten is the latest top-level Magic The Gathering player to make a successful transtion to poker.
