Full Tilt Poker will be putting on the Full Tilt $25K Heads-Up World Championship on May 24-25 in what will be the most expensive tournament buy-in in the history of online poker.
The event takes place a week after the end of FTOPS VIII.
According to pokerpages.com:
The event kicks off at 3 p.m. EST on the 24th and will be hosted by 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Champion Chris “Jesus” Ferguson. Team Full Tilt stars Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer and Jennifer Harman will also be in attendance, while the biggest names in live and online poker are expected to flock to the record setting tournament.
The maximum field size will be 64 players, with ‘no byes’ rules, so players are encouraged to buy-in early to avoid being refunded. If the field doesn’t sell out, the max will drop to 32 or 16 entries, if necessary.
FTP is planning to run $500+$35 qualifiers for the event.
