MGM at Foxwoods is set to open this Saturday, adding a new 30-story presence to the Connecticut resort and casino.

According to a story at pokernews.com, the MGM Mirage and Pequot nation venture costs $700 million and includes “restaurants, clubs, high-end stores, state-of-the-art meeting facilities, and a 4,000-seat theatre,” in addition to 825 new rooms and suites:

With the soon-to-be unveiled expansion at Foxwoods, MGM achieves a presence in a growing, but competitive, region where they had none before.

The partnership is also compelling for the Piquot nation. While Foxwoods has always been a favorite among northeastern players, the gaming-centric and somewhat hotel space-challenged casino was positioned as a regional gambling destination. But competition has risen in the region, a trend that will likely continue as surrounding states revisit their gambling regulations. With the expansion, Foxwoods can differentiate itself as one of the only resort-style casinos in the area.

Opponent's image: Solid, a little tricky
Your hand: As Qh

This hand is from the archives and originally appeared on 8/21/07. View the original quiz and comments here

The setup: You're fairly new to this table and you picked up a pot quick when you flopped a set and won a decent multi-way pot. You've been fairly active since, seeing a lot of flops cheap and playing for the win on the flop or turn in a couple of spots.

This hand you're dealt AQo UTG and you decide to limp. The button limps and both blinds play. You flop top pair:

Qd 7h 6d

The SB leads out for $6. The BB folds. You make it $24 and the button folds. The SB calls. The turn gives you two pair with the Ac. The SB checks and you pop $40 into $54. The SB flat calls.

The turn comes the 10c. The SB checks again. There's $134 in the middle. Do you value bet here and if so, for how much?
