“High Stakes Poker” may be nearly done on the Game Show Network.

No new shows are in production, and GSN has not yet bought new episodes of the show.

High Stakes Poker enjoyed a run as GSN’s top-rated show for four seasons at one point, according to cardplayer.com:

The show is currently the lead-in for the World Poker Tour, which is aired on Monday nights. CEO of Poker PROductions Mori Eskandani said GSN owns upwards of 50 episodes of High Stakes Poker and can broadcast the show for at long as they want. Filming of High Stakes Poker usually takes place in the late spring, but did not take place this year.

Eskandani says GSN is moving away from the casino and card-related programming that once occupied most of the evening time slots starting in 2004 (Poker Royale, World Series of Blackjack, and Celebrity Blackjack were a few of the shows). None of them can be found there now.

Whole thing here.

And according to pokerati.com, HSP is already done. Whole thing here.

The WPT could be in danger of losing its spot on GSN, as well — its agreement with the network expires May 24 and has not yet been renewed.

Archive pick: Value betting the river, no limit hold em cash -

Game type: 1/2 No Limit Cash Game
Your image: Fairly Aggressive
Opponent's image: Solid, a little tricky
Your hand: As Qh

This hand is from the archives and originally appeared on 8/21/07. View the original quiz and comments here

The setup: You're fairly new to this table and you picked up a pot quick when you flopped a set and won a decent multi-way pot. You've been fairly active since, seeing a lot of flops cheap and playing for the win on the flop or turn in a couple of spots.

This hand you're dealt AQo UTG and you decide to limp. The button limps and both blinds play. You flop top pair:

Qd 7h 6d

The SB leads out for $6. The BB folds. You make it $24 and the button folds. The SB calls. The turn gives you two pair with the Ac. The SB checks and you pop $40 into $54. The SB flat calls.

The turn comes the 10c. The SB checks again. There's $134 in the middle. Do you value bet here and if so, for how much?
