WSOP pre-registrations running ahead of schedule; low-limit events may fill early

The World Series of Poker improved its preregistration since last year’s event, and the result is that the world’s biggest series of poker tournaments is running ahead of schedule for getting people signed up for this year’s events.
According to pokernews.com:
The new cap on entries – a particular concern in some of the lower-entry no-limit hold’em events – is a further encouragement to players to lock up their spots now, as opposed to walking in prior to an event and hoping that seats remain available. As opposed to prior years, there will be no seating of alternates for events at the WSOP.
World Series of Poker Communications Director Seth Palansky has related that both hotel-room
reservations and event pre-registrations are running well ahead of last year’s pace.
This year there is a dedicated window at the Rio, host of the WSOP, just to deal with pre-registration.
Pre-registration has already closed for some of the early events.
