UltimateBet announces “unfair advantage” investigation results
Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG, proprietor
of UltimateBet.com, as well as Absolute Poker, released a statement today addressing the recent hole card scandal at UltimateBet. Tokwiro stated that the software code which allowed the viewing of hole cards during live play was found to have existed prior to its acquisition of UltimateBet.com in October 2006 and remained undiscovered until February 2008.
The Kahnawake Gaming Commission, which regulates Tokwiro as well as scores of others, conducted a thorough investigation and concluded that the unfair software code has been permanently removed.
All users associated with the fraudulent activity have been permanently banned from UltimateBet.com. These users are listed as: NioNio, Sleepless, NoPaddles, nvtease, flatbroke33, ilike2win, UtakeIt2, FlipFlop2, erick456, WhackMe44, RockStarLA, stoned2nite, monizzle, FireNTexas, HeadKase01, LetsPatttty, NYMobser, and WhoWhereWhen. NioNio was the account that first raised suspicions of unfair play in Jan. 2008.
Tokwiro further said that all customers affected by the issue have been notified and corrective measures are underway, and that it is working on changing its security measures, including instituting a new poker security team, eliminating users’ abilities to change their screen names except under some circumstances, and creating a software security package that will first of all look closely at any “abnormal winnings.”
“We want to assure customers of our unwavering resolve to monitor site security with every resource at our disposal,” said the company.
