Day 12 at WSOP: ‘Glum Girl’ gets bracelet

Three bracelets were handed out on Day 12 of the World Series of Poker, highlighted by Svetlana “Glum Girl” Gromenkova winning Event No. 15, the $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold’em event.
Gromenkova won the first prize of $224,702.
Also on Tuesday:
– Ted Forrest missed an opportunity to win bracelet No. 6 in Event No. 16, the $2,000 Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better event. Forrest was the chip leader heading into the final table, but eventually Now York City’s Andrew Brown won the event and the first prize of $226,448. It was his first-ever WSOP cash. Scott Clements finished 7th.
– Another first-time WSOP casher won Event No. 17, the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout $1,500. Jason Young of Suffern, NY, won the bracelet and the $335,565 first prize.
All three bracelet winners hail from the state of New York.
Five events will be taking place today, with just one final table scheduled, in Event No. 18, the $5,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball w/Re-Buys event. Doyle Brunson bubbled the cash in the event. Erick Lindgren will go after his second bracelet of 2008 with the chip lead.
