Recent college grad wins WSOP event

Recent University of Toronto graduate Max Greenwood took down the only final table at the World Series of Poker on Friday, Event No. 44, $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em w/Re-Buys.
Rene Mouritsen took second in a WSOP event for the third time in his career as Greenwood won the top prize of $693,444.
Greenwood won after an impressive comeback — he was nearly out of chips when play became three-handed, but he doubled-up three times in a row to take the chip lead on his way to victory.
According to reports, it was the most raucous crowd of this year’s WSOP, with Tom “durrr” Dwan, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond and Andrew “good2cu” Robl all cheering on Greenwood.
There are a pair of final tables scheduled for today. In Event No. 46, $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em/Six Handed, Davidi Kitai will try to win his second event of this WSOP. In Event No. 47, $,1500, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better plays is down to the final 13, with David Sklansky in the middle of the pack seeking his second WSOP final table this year.
Event No. 45, the $50,000 World Championship of H.O.R.S.E. has reached day four of five, with 24 players still remaining. Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu and Scotty Nguyen are in the top five in chips.
