Fourth and final “first day” wraps up at WSOP main event

The fourth and final Day 1 of the World Series of Poker main event concluded on Sunday, with 2,461 people entering, the largest field of the four days.
In all, 1,386 players made it out of Day 1d with chips still in hand.
With the first days completed, the total number of entrants is 6,844. The total prize pool is $64,333,600, which will be paid out to the top 666 spots. First prize is $9,119,517.
According to WSOP.com:
Defending champion Jerry Yang played on Day 1d, as did past Main Event champions Doyle Brunson, Noel Furlong, Chris Ferguson and Carlos Mortensen. Brunson, Ferguson and Furlong exited early and Yang had an up-and-down day, ending with 26,600. Mortensen, on the other hand, had a strong start and remained among the chip leaders throughout the day. He ended the day with 109,000 and will be among the Day 2b big stacks.
Notable players to be eliminated today include 2008 double bracelet winner John Phan, Tom Schneider, Annie Duke, Todd Brunson, Dario Minieri, Andy Bloch and Phil Ivey. Pros that survived include Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer, Victor Ramdin, Phil Gordon, David Oppenheim, Jean-Robert Bellande, Scott Clements and Layne Flack.
Steve Austin finished the night as chip leader for Day 1d with 149,000 in chips.
Monday is an off day. All Day 1c and 1d will play on Day 2b on Wednesday. Day 1a and 1b survivors in Day 2a on Tuesday.
