Ahhh, unsubstantiated rumors. That’s about all there is to back up claims circulating this weekend that online gaming company Bodog is facing increasing difficulty keeping the ship afloat. A few sources, including G911, PokerNewsDaily and others, are basically repeating the same bits of gossip - that Bodog laid off dozens of employees, that the company is considering a retreat from the US market, that recent check processing issues hit the company much harder than they admitted.

Here’s a good summary of the current woes the company may or may not be facing from o-c.com. Excerpt:

It is now claimed - again on the basis of allegations by an unnamed insider - that in the past week, Bodog has laid off close to 250 employees in Canada, from customer service to management, and staffing levels are currently down to approximately 200 employees, split equally between Vancouver and Montreal. Advertising management has departed following a suspension in the activities of that division.

Sad stuff, if true.
