Not the best year or so for Bodog. Domain struggles, downsizing, rumors of sealed indictments, severe payout issues and declining traffic have combined to essentially cripple a company that was a rising star in the poker world only a year or so ago.

Now, more bad news for the company is the form of a court decision that essentially upholds the original judgment against the company in a somewhat bizarre patent lawsuit filed against Bodog last year by 1st Technology LLC. That lawsuit resulted in the seizure of the Bodog.com domain name and a default damage award of nearly $50 million against the company.

Online-casinos.com had this reaction from 1st Technology head Scott Lewis: “We cannot be more pleased,” Lewis says of the failure of the appeal. “Bodog has consistently tried to circumvent the United States justice system, and disregarded the legitimacy of our claims against it. We now have the certainty we need to accelerate our seizure of any and all global assets to satisfy the judgment, and bring fairness and respect back to Bodog’s commercial dealings.”
