The long-awaited, highly anticipated feature story that 60 Minutes has been preparing on online poker will not air in October, as reported earlier this week. Sources are now saying that the story has been moved back to an early November air date.

Also rumored to be changing is the focus of the story. While it was originally centered on the scandal at Absolute Poker, and later expanded to include the accompanying scandal at UB, some are now suggesting that the story will be a broader survey of the industry and the interaction of the US public and US Government with online poker.

There’s plenty of speculation regarding the schedule shuffling, but more likely than not it comes down to two factors: first, the relative insignificance of the story relative to breaking election news and second, the chance to piggyback the story on ESPN’s airing of the WSOP final table.

PokerNews.com is reporting that the Washington Post has plans to run an accompanying long-form article regarding online poker in early November as well.
